Remote Access to Email with Webmail

What is Webmail?

Webmail (webmail.ahoy.com) is a service available to Fishnet NewMedia's Email Hosting clients who want to read and send messages while away from their primary computer - such as when they are at home in the evenings, travelling on business, or on vacation.

Things You Need to Know:

  • Accessing webmail.ahoy.com requires entering the login and password that were provided to you when we set up your email account. If you do not have this information please contact us at 508.888.3456 or via email at support@ahoy.com.
  • For added security the Webmail interface is run in secure mode so communication between you and the server is encrypted.
  • Use of webmail.ahoy.com is included in the regular monthly Web & Internet Hosting fee. It is meant to be used for temporary access your email account, so email will be retained on the mail server until it is accessed from your primary computer.
  • If you use webmail.ahoy.com frequently, be sure to also access email from your primary computer to avoid additional storage charges due to the accumulation of a large email file.
  • Images within an HTML email are not embedded in the email but are retrieved from an outside source, therefore images in HTML emails will not be displayed unless you click the "View Unsafe Images" link at the bottom of the email message.
  • We compiled a brief guide to help you get started using webmail.ahoy.com. Please refer to Getting Started with Webmail for additional information.
  • We strongly recommend sending a few test messages after your initial login to webmail.ahoy.com to verify you have set up the Personal Information option correctly. Feel free to send test messages to our Support Team at support@ahoy.com. We will let you know if we see any problems.

Getting Started with Webmail

To access email with webmail.ahoy.com you need your email account login and password. This information was provided to you when we set up your account initially. If you do not have your login and password please contact us at 508.888.3456 or via email at support@ahoy.com and we will relay them to you.

To start using Webmail:

  • Enter your login name in the login field.
    NOTE: Your login name is not your email address.
  • Enter your password in the password field.
    NOTE: Your password will display as asterisks (*) for security.
  • Click the Login button.

If you have problems logging in, double check your login name and password. If you need assistance, contact us at 508.888.3456 or via email at support@ahoy.com.

After a successful login, webmail.ahoy.com will display new messages received since the last time you read email from your primary computer.

Use webmail.ahoy.com to read, delete, reply to or create new email messages. NOTE: Email messages that are deleted or moved from the inbox to another folder within Webmail will not be available for download to your primary email reader. IMPORTANT: You should set your preferences the first time you access webmail.ahoy.com. Review these instructions before you get started: Setting Preferences. Setting Up webmail.ahoy.com Options

The first time you access webmail.ahoy.com it is important to set up the Personal Information Option.

Click the "Options" button in the top menu.

Click on the "Personal Information" button and proceed as follows:

  • Enter your Full Name (Firstname Lastname). This will be used to identify you as the sender of outgoing email.
  • Enter your email address (ex: firstnamelastname@mycompany.com). This address will display after your full name in the FROM: field of email you send from webmail.ahoy.com.
  • Click the Submit button.
  • Send yourself a test message to verify you have set up the Personal Information correctly. Also send a test message to our Support Team at support@ahoy.com. We will let you know if we see any problems.

There are many other optional preferences that can be set to personalize webmail.ahoy.com as you like. Click on the Help button in the top menu for additional information and instructions.
