December 1, 2004 The National Turkey Federation Web site (www.EatTurkey.com), designed by Devine & Pearson and hosted by Fishnet NewMedia set new records for Thanksgiving 2004. The Web site uses the Recipe Manager Web Solution developed by Fishnet.

During the week of Thanksgiving, one million pages were served to visitors seeking information about preparing turkey for the traditional feast. This was over twice the activity from the previous year. The traffic volume for the week was 85Gbytes served, and the peak rate of 8,000,000 bits per second was reached on Wednesday. There were over 20,000 recipe searches performed, and 170,000 recipes displayed. The most popular recipe was Southern Deep Fried Turkey, with Cajun Deep-Fried Turkey following close behind. The most popular search words from search engines like Google, Yahoo and MSN were “deep fried turkey” and “turkey recipes”. Overall, there were over 300,000 referrals to the EatTurkey web site.
