DryDock FAQs
How do I maintain an existing page? |
To edit an existing page, first make sure you are on the tab labeled Page. Next, use the drop down menu labeled Current Folder, and choose the folder in which the page you need to change is located. Next, under the heading Maintain Existing Page use the drop down menu labeled Choose a Page to Maintain and select the page’s file that needs to be edited. Once the correct folder and file are selected, click the edit button. After making the necessary changes you can either click save, or save and preview to save your changes. Lastly, to make your changes live you must build the page. |
How do I upload files to my site? |
To upload a file, select the folder where the file is to be placed. Browse your workstation to find the file to upload. By default, the file name remains the same unless overridden. To store the file under a new name, enter the new name in the Save file as field. Be careful with case sensitivity in file names. If a file with the same name already exists in the folder, DryDock does not overwrite the existing file unless you check the box for allow overwriting existing file. |
What does build mean? |
DryDock allows you to create pages without making them live on your Web site. This gives you a chance to preview and tweak them without making them active. Once you are satisfied, you then must build the page. You can build one page at a time by clicking build, build all pages in a specific folder by clicking build folder, or build all pages site wide by clicking build all pages. |
How do I add a new page? |
To add a new page to your site, first make sure you are on the tab labeled Page.
Next, use the drop down menu labeled Current Folder, and choose the folder in which the new page is to go. The in current folder option should be checked. Next, under the heading Create New Page, enter the file name you wish to create, and then click the Create Page button. After the page is made, click either save, or save and preview. To make the new page active on your Web site, you must build it.

How do I create a new folder or subfolder along with a new page? |
To create a new page within a folder that does not exist yet, simply specify the folder before the new file name and separate them with a back slash. By specifying a non-existent folder, DryDock knows to create it for you.
For example: foldername/index.html will prompt DryDock to create the page index.html in a folder named foldername.

How can I search my site? |
To search your site, click on the Search tab. The search function is a tool to quickly locate templates, pages or modules that contain a specific word or character string. You may select whether or not to perform a case-sensitive search, and may optionally choose to search templates, pages, modules, or both.
The search function only scans the DryDock database, not the 'built' pages. Searching for a string that occurs in a module shows the module, and not the page referencing the module. The XREF function may be used to cross-reference the pages that use the module.
